- Designate areas for items and keep them there. If you have mail scattered all over your house, create a mail bin and put all of your mail in the bin until you are ready to open it.
- I have a rule. If I haven't worn it in 6 months or a season, I get rid of it. I donate it to Goodwill or a similar business. This allows for you to keep your closet fresh and seasonal.
- Everyone has stacks of pizza coupons etc. in the junk drawer. If you think that you may use it, chances are you won't. Throw it away now and reduce the clutter. Plus, these days you can find everything you need online.
- If you leave one thing out, it leads to another and another and another and pretty soon you are surrounded by piles. Do it now.
- There are numerous stores that have multiple organizing tools that are perfect for your organizational needs. Look to The Container Store, Bed Bath & Beyond, IKEA, Target etc. to find exactly what you need for your problem areas.
