Hot Shoe Trends: Sandals, Wedges, Embelishments and Wearable Heel Heights

I L.O.V.E. this shoe. Isn't this shoe smokin' hot? This season, wedges are everywhere and making a serious statement. Embellishments, cork and wood work as well. Color, Color, Color! Express yourself!

Out is the metallic and heavily studded shoe. I have seen a few shoes this season, such as the one above, with a little studding but nothing like we had seen before. There's a small trickle of bigger studded gladiators left but this trend has passed. You will see many of them on sale so be on the look out and consider over all wear in comparison to the price.

This is a fun season for sandals, wedges, and shoes with ankle treatments. There are numerous versions and styles to express your individuality while remaining functional.

I am seeing  a large number of wedges in all styles including cork like the one above on the left and wood work and buckles like the shoe above on the right.

Last season, we saw sky high platforms or flat gladiators and not much in between. This season, there is a push towards wearable heel heights that can be worn for longer than a few hours without cramping your style; these styles can be worn day to night and trekking through the city.

You will also see sandals with ankle embellishments such as these cute little things on the left and right. The embellishments are another style point to any outfit and add a touch of carefree femininity to your look.

Insider Tip: Choose a shoe that has a cut underneath the ankle. This is the most versatile style that will flatter almost any body type and any ankle.

Here is an example of a shoe that is over the ankle:
