Image Lesson: Examples of Dressing For Your Body Type

Awhile ago, I had posted a piece on body types and dressing yourself thinner. I found a great example on Rachel Roy's website today. It's a comparison of how dramatically different one can look by dressing incorrectly. In this example, I am using the same model in various outfits that fit very differently. You will be able to see the difference and use these examples to improve your own look and dress yourself thinner.

Waistline Issue:
As you can see on the left, the model's pants are low on her waist and slightly ballooned, it makes her appear heavier than on the right. The belt draws attention and the pants are accentuating her widest part of her tiny body. The reason the outfit on the right is so successful is because the jacket darts in at her thinnest point and cuts just above her widest part giving the look of curves and an hour glass figure. You will see the same example below with a loose fitting waistline. One her best assets is her narrow waist. If she conceals it as the picture shows on the lower left, it makes her lose shape and appear sloppy.

It is important that you decide what your best feature is whether it is your shoulders, arms, legs, ankles, waist etc. and dress accordingly. Show your best, conceal the rest. If you need help determining your body type, email me at sugarlipslifestyletips
