This is a cause near and dear to my heart. For the 6th year, Discarded to Divine has not only raised funds but raised awareness.  
"With help from designers and visionary volunteers, Discarded to Divine has become more than a fundraiser–it is now a movement that embraces charity and sustainability to restore the lives of those around us."

Many of you may recognize Adelle McElveen, a Bay Area Fashion Blogger, that competed in the SFFAMA Live Style Series at THREAD. She plays a key role in Discarded to Divine as a member of the planning committee and continues to volunteer her time throughout the year to help make this event a success.

As one of the most under reported crimes, domestic violence continues to harm families across the country. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence states that nearly one in four women experience some form of domestic violence in their lives. Discarded to Divine was created in 2005 to showcase the talent of local professionals and designers by creating and donating on-of-a-kind couture creations and home decor to be auctioned off at the event. Recycled fashions that renew lives.

Explode a la Mode

Saturday, April 30th from 9pm-2am

Come out to see my friend and Designer Sarah Liller on Saturday night at Explode a la Mode's fashion show. Among other emerging local designers, she will showcase her latest creations on stage Saturday night. The proceeds will be donated to San Francisco non-profit A Home Within for the emotional needs of foster youth. Suggested donation $10 at the door.
